Disney's Toy Story 3 On Ice 2011

G.G. was super good to us and took us to see Toy Story 3...On Ice!
This was Allan's first time getting to see a show on ice.  And once the show started, he was on the edge of his seat, with wide eyes, in amazement.
"See Mommy? I told you they were really real!"
Is what he told me when he saw his favorite characters come skating out.
A surprise visit from Mickey Mouse and Friends was awesome!
Is that a face of a kid having a good time and quite impressed with what he's seeing?
 I think so.

Allan was most impressed and excited when the Green Army Men came out.
They were definitely his favorite.
For the rest of the show, that's all he kept asking about.
"When are the green army men coming back out?"
"I wanna see the green army men!"

 Mister Buzz Light Year himself!
 To infinity and beyond!!

 "The claw!"
And once Barbie and her friends came out and started dancing and singing, that's when Allan lost interest.
All of a sudden he needed to go to the bathroom every 5 seconds.
I thought she was cool!  I would have been in heaven to have seen her when I was Allan's age.
Kind of like he was when he saw the Green Army Men.
I guess that's the difference between boys and girls.
G.G. was awesome and bought Allan his own Buzz toy.
Think he liked it?
The kid slept with that thing for a few weeks straight!

The Houston Zoo

Kirk and I took Allan to the Houston Zoo a few weeks ago.  We were trying to get one good visit in to see as many animals as possible before it gets way too hot for Allan, pregnant mommy, or the animals.

But before the Zoo we had to get a (yummy) bite to eat at Goode's.
Allan was already in animal mode during lunch.  We couldn't get to the zoo fast enough for him.
This guy below (I forgot what exactly he is called) looked like a huge German Shepard.  He was super cute...and tired.
 On to the Lions!
I guess the one in the middle was pretty bored of all of us checking her out.
The lions might have to be my personal favorites.  They're so pretty.  And huge!  They look so soft.  I wish I could actually pet (safely) one of those guys.  They're just so neat!

(Too bad for the window glare)
This guy looked pretty freaking big!  No one better mess with him...King of the Jungle...

King Queen of the mountain rock.
Summer is coming way too fast for this guy/girl.  She had the right idea:
cooling off in some water.
I can totally understand.

Allan was more interested in the fake elephant than the real ones.
Notice the face below?  That's him spotting the fake elephant and thinking how he would really like to climb on that elephant...

 Happy boy.

It took us some time to get him away from the elephant so we could move on to more real animals.

That is one big lizard I would NOT like to find in my backyard.

I always like getting to see the albino alligator.  I don't know why.  I'm not a reptile fan at all.  But something about this guy is really neat looking...as long as he's behind a strong glass wall.

And of course, my son is always most interested in the reptiles...especially the snakes!

 Check out those teeth!
The better to eat you with!!

This little guy was probably mine and Allan's favorite of the day.
He followed our every movement through the glass.
Look how interested and cute they both are!

I don't want reptiles in my house.  Neither one of our boys better try and bring home a reptile of any sorts.  I'll freak.
But if I had to have one, I would pick this little guy right here.  He was so cute and so interested in us.  But he lives at the zoo, so I know there will be no chance of hime ever coming live in my house.

 Look close.
That's not just one snake twisted up in these pictures.
There's two of those bad boys.  They were HUGE!  I don't remember/know how long.  But believe me, they were way big!
Allan liked this guy too.  He had a conversation with him through the glass.

 See?
They're both interested in whatever it is Allan's talking about.

He's happy he got to touch a snake.
It's a good thing that bod boy wasn't real!
The monkey's in the new African exhibit were cool.  A lot of them came right up to the windows and let us have a closer look at them.

How about a nice pat on the back?
"Good boy!"

I really like this picture...if it wasn't for the glare from the window.

Check out that little tiny baby!  How stinkin' cute!

 Don't worry...
this guy wasn't real!

 And the beloved petting zoo!
My son loves a good petting zoo.
Any time he can get up close and personal with real animals and touch them...
he's one happy camper.

 And last, but not least...
A very, very cute ground hog...
